Breast Cancer Services
Our program provides breast screenings, follow up imaging for abnormal findings, and patient navigation for uninsured women 18 years of age and older in Bastrop, Blanco, Burnett, Caldwell, Comal, Gillespie, Hays, Kerr and Williamson Counties.
As a Texas Breast and Cervical Cancer Services Program (BCCS) contractor, Community Action provides free breast services to women 18 years of age and older under the 200% FPL and enrolls diagnosed women in Texas Medicaid for Breast and Cervical cancer or alternative funding for breast cancer treatment.
As a member of the Addressing Cancer Together (ACT) Coalition, Community Action provides FREE breast screenings to Hays, Bastrop and Williamson County women ages 50-74 and high-risk women ages 40-49 that are between 201%- 250% FPL. ACT also provides diagnostic imaging to women and men between 201%- 250% FPL and funds breast cancer treatment for diagnosed individuals that do not meet the MBCC criteria for breast cancer funding.
Specific services include:
- Screening Mammograms
- Diagnostic procedures to resolve breast symptoms or abnormal screening mammogram results
- Patient Navigation services for women needing additional care
- Patient navigation and enrollment in MBCC or alternative funding for women diagnosed with breast cancer
