Career Pathways for Central Texans provides workforce fully supported education and training opportunities to low to moderate income residents of Hays, Caldwell and Blanco Counties. Participants can currently choose to pursue Certified Nurse Aide training and/or to enroll in Austin Community College on a part time or full time basis. Career Pathways will offer Pharmacy Technician training and Dental Assistant training from March to June and Certified Medication Aide training in April. Persons interested in pursuing other workforce education and training programs can discuss these programs with the Career Pathways Coordinator and receive assistance and support to attend such programs if feasible. All Career Pathways participants develop a career plan in consultation with the program coordinator. All education and training programs are free to eligible participants. The program also pays for books, tools, and supplies that clients may need to complete their education and training activities. Career Pathways participants may also receive support services such as assistance with child care and transportation while attending training programs.
